AMERICAN, South. Good eats but deceiving name. Not quite North American selections but thats okay, bc the food is good.

Went with one of their Excellent burger & brew specials which really hit the spot. Just choose any burger and any beer! Nice and cozy spot with friendly service!

I decided to check out Glen Cove on a recent Saturday afternoon. In reality I was thinking of Great Neck, but got the names mixed up. Anyway, while I was in Glen Cove I walked down the main street in search of food. We came upon American Cafe and checked out the menu. Nice selection, decent prices, why not?We ordered a burger, quesadilla, sweet potato fries, and a few other items and they were delicious and filling. While waiting for our food to arrive we observed the waiter bringing food to the group seated next to us and we quickly regretted not ordering tacos or a burrito because they looked and smelled amazing.A word of caution: Be careful when sitting outside because there were a few pesky hornets that invited themselves to inspect nearly every food and beverage item on the tables.

Great home fries! Extensive menu. Small dining room that's a little cramped.

Some of the best ricotta blueberry pancakes I've ever had! Very casual, small but great selection of breakfast and lunch dishes.

Good atmosphere and good food. Breakfast for weekend suitable and available for to go. It will be my one of first option for weekend walk course, no doubt.

This place is always good the wraps tacos chicken fingers soups. Reasonable lg portions and great staff. Shout out to troy a waiter here who really makes u feel welcome.

This place is the BEST! The food is truly delicious. What an amazing menu of great choices. I had a shrimp taco w rice and beans and it was one of the best meals I have had in a long time. My sister had a fish taco and mom had blueberry ricotta pancakes and we all agreed that all were absolutely delicious. Great portions, fresh ingredients. The staff was super nice!We cannot wait to return

I came to the American Cafe for breakfast and appropriately go their breakfast platter. For about 12 dollars you get a pretty large meal that you can customize; I got two eggs, pancakes, meat, potatoes, and toast. this was an incredibly filling and tasty plate. In all honesty I was not able to finish it. My only complaint was the customer service. I thought the waiters were a little slow in ways. But in all fairness, this could have just been because it was early in the morning.

American Cafe has great food at a reasonable price. I especially like coming here for brunch because they have great pancakes, and the bacon is out of this world crispy, just the way I like it. For dinner, I usually just order the brisket quesadilla (because it usually doesn't take much to fill me up).

The Breakfast is exquisite and very reasonably priced. Server's are very kind and attentive. Excellent place to eat.

Perfectly made eggs, fast service, and friendly workers. I'd highly recommend visiting, as the prices are really good, and its generally a really nice atmosphere to bring your family to.

Brisket! I drive 30+ minutes from Queens for the bbq brisket. Sandwich, platter or quesadilla any way you have it you will not be disappointed. The staff is friendly and there isn’t usually a wait for a table.

The food is good, but I didn't have the most pleasant dining experience. I hope I just came on a bad day and this isn't the normal consistency.

This place is amazing. Even w/ the precarious times we live in, the take out food continues to be wonderful, tasty& plentiful .Please frequent them to keep them alive so we can go back & enjoy the dining in experience again

Tacos were incredible! Chicken pot pie was crispy, hot, and fresh.

The meals and service were above our expectations. We surely loved the vibes of this spot. Wonderful place to take the family out for dinner.

The people working there are amazing! Very friendly and good at their jobs. The corn bread muffins are something to order for sure and then everything else I tried was also incredible. This is not the average breakfast food it actually tastes very good. I have been there a couple of times and it's always crowded but the wait time was never long. I have had the huevos rancheros, the breakfast platter, the veggie wrap and sweet potato fries. All of them were something I would have again and the portion sizes are really big.

Good food with rotating specials. Waitstaff was pretty quick and was helpful with providing answers to menu questions. Prices were reasonable as well, and the food was prepared quickly and accurately. Would definitely recommend the Huevos Rancheros.

Definitely a spot worth stopping by, the food is awesome and well prepared, the rates are affordable and it is constantly neat in here. Fantastic work.

Delicious American/ tex-mex/ and Mexican fare. The offerings are delicious here as they are unique and the servings generous which earns a five in my book. Great little space, clean, good service. One thing is the place is pricey, even for its lowest appetizers. Don't go in expecting a deal. The price is worth it.

This place is my preferable restaurant. Of all restaurants I know I prefere it most. I always suggests to my friends to go to that place. Whenever I I need a decent lunchon, this is the place that comes first to my head. good and all kinds of food and a large list of dishes.trained crew, and nice spirit. And very important, the tariff is decent. I recommend this spot with pleasure.

Decent food, but not great. Free corn muffins but a steep charge for chips and salsa. Friendly service but inattentive. Prices were on the high side for what it is. They charged a 5% "Fee" on the bill after I used a credit card to pay. This is very unusual and there were no signs about this. The brisket enchiladas were tasty but they were small for the $. The kids liked their meals.

The food was very good we had two sandwiches. One pulled pork and the other pulled beef. They were $9.00 each but were stuffed and delicious. We brought home half each and had them for dinner the next day. The place is small and doesn't look like much but the service was good . The bathroom was clean although they lost water at one point? The owner had his children there to help. They had an app to take $5.00 off the bill and did. I bought a flan for my son which leaked all over... The flan was tasty but very orangery in flavor. I'm used to straight caramel. It was good as well. If you're up he.re its a good reasonable place to go.

Everything is pretty great, but honestly I come here mainly for the corn muffins. They are so amazing. I love the breakfast platter, I don't get any meat so don't know how they are, but they definitely know what they are doing with eggs. The French toast is awesome and I love the way they make the potatoes on the side.
